Be careful to remove the wire in time so that it does not bite in the cortex. The older branches can be formed with uncle's wires. Repotting: Replenish the flame tree, or Delonix bonsai, each or every other year and use a well-rolled soil mixture. The tree tolerates the normal root pruning, one third of the root mass can be removed. Be careful to cut dead roots and the strong roots that surround in the bottom of the pot. As the flame tree prefers a slightly acidic soil, you can add a bit of Kanuma to your soil mixture. Propagation: The trees of the flame spread from the seed. Let the dried seeds swell in warm water for a few days before putting them on growing soil. Keep them at a constant temperature of 68°F / 20°C. It will take about three weeks until the seeds germinate. Weights and Diseases: The scale can disturb the flame tree, especially in winter. In this case try to scratch them manually and use a specific pesticide. Shooting or caterpillars may also occur. Excessing water or too cold position can cause root rottenness. Then repot the tree, cut off the damaged roots and plant it on fresh and well draining soil.
